ANTHONY UJAH OPENS WERDER BREMEN DFB CUP ACCOUNT

The 24-year-old striker was on target for the River Islanders in their victory over their German third division outfit on Saturday



Nigeria’s Anthony Ujah scored for Werder Bremen in their 2-0 win against Wurzburger Kickers in a DFB-Pokal First round game played at the Flyeralarm Arena on Saturday evening.

His 102nd strike plus Fin Bartels’ goal six minutes later handed Viktor Skrypnyk’s men a hard fought win against the German third division outfit.

24-year-old Ujah who scored 10 goals in the Bundesliga last season joined the Weserstadion outfit for an undisclosed fee.

Werder Bremen host Schalke 04 when the German topflight kicks off on August 15,2015 with the Nigerian hoping to better his last term's goal scoring feat.
