MARK: PDP committed to successful election

Jos—SENATE President, David Mark, yesterday assured Nigerians that Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was committed to a successful election and would join hands with all stakeholders to ensure free, fair and credible polls in 2015.

Senator Mark spoke during the Plateau North Senatorial Zone Constituency Empowerment and Development programme to mark Senator Gyang Pwajok’s second year in the National Assembly.

Addressing beneficiaries at the Polo Field in Jos, Mark urged them to continue to support Senator Pwajok in whatever position he would be contesting in next year’s elections.
He said: “The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is committed to free, fair and credible elections.
“I am in support of any stakeholder who is working for a peaceful election. Election is not war or a battlefield; we must all join hands to ensure a successful election.
“Senator Pwajok is one of the youngest senators who is making robust contributions in the Senate. It is a thing of joy that he is giving back to his constituency who stood by him; you must reciprocate the gesture by supporting him in whatever position he seeks in 2015.”
However, Sen. GNS Pwajok, who replaced the late Sen. Gyang Dantong, donated items worth N150 million to over 1,000 women, youths and handicap in the constituency, as parts of his appreciation to the constituency.
Among the items given to beneficiaries from Jos North, Jos South, Jos East, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Bassa, local government areas making the Northern Senatorial zone, include large and small grinding machines, sewing machines, tricycles, block moulders, hair dressing kits, barbing kits, irrigation water pumps, wheel chairs, vehicles and computer sets.
Recounting his contributions in the National Assembly, Sen. Pwajok appreciated his constituents, saying they had been the foundation for a successful two years in the Senate.
