Benue 2015: Governorship Aspirant Debunks EFCC Rumours

Former managing director of the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Roseline Ada Chenge has denied insinuations from certain quarters that she is being hunted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged embezzlement.

Chenge has successfully passed the screening to contest the primaries of the governorship of Benue State on the platform of the ruling PDP. She is rated the most viable and gender friendly female contender in the race.

There have been widespread accusations in the agrarian state that the female governorship aspirant is involved in a financial scam which the anti-graft agency is investigating.

However, fielding questions from newsmen in Makurdi yesterday, Chenge denied the rumour and described the information as not just mischievous, but highly denigrating.

She noted that she is vying for the seat because a woman has never been governor in Benue and across the other 35 states, calling it an injustice and gender bias.
