Ballot without bullets workshop opens in Benue

Chairman of Presidential Committee on Small Arms and Light Weapons (PRESCOM), Ambassador Emmanuel Imohe yesterday called on Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliation to work together and build an electoral culture that would be violence-free.

Speaking during a two-day forum on proliferation of illicit weapons in Nigeria entitled: “Ballot without Bullets,” Imohe harped on the need for the Nigerian public to build a multi faceted and integrated coalition in the battle to halt the spread of illegal arms.

He said the workshop would provide awareness on the negative socio economic impact of illicit small arms and light weapons proliferation in Nigeria.
