Suswam, Onjeh Petitions Benue Senatorial Results

Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam has petitioned the results of the senatorial election in the Benue North Central zone which declared him the loser and announced incumbent Senator Barnabas Gemade winner of the polls.

This is just as the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Benue South zone, Comrade Daniel Onjeh has also challenged the declaration of Senate President David Mark, as winner of the election.

Suswam is challenging the emergency of Gemade on the allegation of manipulation of result figures and cancellation of election in Mbaded and Mbagbera wards of Vandeikya, as well as in Konshisha local governments.
He spoke to newsmen in Makurdi on Wednesday.

However, Onjeh has also questioned the declaration Mark as senator, saying there was electoral fraud and prayed that INEC should inspect the card readers, certified true copy of the accredited voters captured by each card reader and incident forms used for the election.

The duo of Suswam and Onjeh have accused both Mark and Gemade of open monetary inducement at the polling units during the elections and that organised security agents and thugs were used by the purported winners to intimidate the electorates to manipulate the electoral process.
