Gunmen Burn Pastors Residence, Cart Away Properties in Benue

Gunmen believed to be criminals have robbed the residence of the pastor of NKST Central church, Ugba, in Ugba town of Logo local government area of Benue state.

The pastor, Rev. Sekegh Gbangu was in the church residence when the armed robbers invaded the place, carting away valuable property and burnt the entire mission house.

The incident occurred between 10 and 12 midnight on Wednesday. The robbers also set ablaze the Hiace bus belonging to the Mzough U Kase (NKST Women wing) of the church, which was parked in the residence.

The attackers could not however, kill anyone but they destroyed properties in the place.

Sources said the robbers had put off electricity connected to the residence from the public power source before they finally entered the house through the ceiling.

It was gathered that the assailants shot sporadically to prevent neighbours and sympathizers from getting access into the place. They hurriedly drove off to an unknown destination.

The police public relations officer, Mr. Astine Ezeani said investigation into the matter is ongoing.
