Speaker BHA: Promise to Partner with Gov. Ortom to Move #Benue Forward

The Speaker of Benue House of Assembly, Terkimbi Ikyange, said the legislature will partner with the executive to take the state out of its present challenges when receiving the leadership of the Forum of Former Lawmakers who paid him solidarity in Makurdi on Friday.


He said a positive partnership with the Gov. Samuel Ortom’s administration at this critical period was most needed if the state must move forward.

The speaker, who expressed appreciation to the forum for the visit, saying the assembly would always resort to it in time of difficulty.

He, therefore, solicited for the support and cooperation of members of the forum to enable him succeed in his new assignment.

The speaker assured the forum that the 8th assembly under his watch would not let the people of the state down.

Earlier, the Chairman of the forum, Mr Stephen Tsav, congratulated the speaker for his elevation, and urged him and the house to assist the government in tackling its challenges.

Tsav attributed the election of Ikyange to the position of speaker to the recognition of his leadership qualities by his colleagues.

Also, the Deputy Speaker, Mr James Ejembi, thanked members of the forum for being the first to call on the speaker.

He solicited for more prayers to enable the speaker steer the affairs of the legislature creditably.
