The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Tactical Air Command in Benue State yesterday handed over the suspected leader of a criminal gang to the state police command for further action.

Commander of 35 Base Service Group (BSG), Air Commodore Morgan Idonibo, during a brief ceremony to turn-in the suspect, Godslove Emmanuel, he said the man alongside his ‘boys’ assaulted one of his officers some months back and badly injured the victim at the Airport market, where he had gone to do some shopping.

“In the past months, we all know what the security situation in the state has been like and all security outfits have been working together to tackle it. Today, we are formally handing him over to the police for investigation and prosecution. And this is to show that we are all working together to ensure peace. We are committed to ensuring that we keep Benue safe,” he said.

Representative of the state Commissioner of Police, DSP Abdul, commended the NAF for its cooperation with the police.

He assured that the police will do its best to reduce crime rate in the state.
Secretary of the Vigilante Group,  Fiidi Unit, John Jiyila, said they have also been helping government and security agencies in the state in ensuring a crime free environment.
