#Benue Deepens Relationship With Development Partners

[Benue News]
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has reiterated the commitment of his administration to deepen engagement with development partners.

He spoke when Michael Harvey, Mission Director, United States Agency for International Development, USAID, led a team to visit him at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

Governor Ortom disclosed that the determination to go in that direction was borne out of the desire to accelerate the pace of development in the state.

According to him, the commitment was reflected in his obtaining approval from the state House of Assembly to expend over N5 billion on counterpart funding with the partners.

He expressed hope that the matching funds from the partners would add value to the quality of life in the state.

“We’ve come with a new zeal to revive our relationship with our partners who we believe can also help us to get it right,” Governor Ortom stressed.

Harvey said the agency was already involved in the agriculture sector in Benue State and working with rice and soyabean farmers.
