Benue State Government has inaugurated a team of officials to run the affairs of the camp for persons displaced from their homes by flooding, located at the Makurdi International Market, as well as those to co-ordinate the registration of victim who are outside the camp at various points in Makurdi.

The team which was inaugurated by Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Hon. Boniface Ortese, comprises seven officials for the main camp at the International Market and nine others to carry out mobile registration exercise at Kucha-Utebe, Agboughul and Wadata satellite areas.

The Makurdi International Market camp officials are;
1. Iorhuna James- Camp Commandant
2. Agede Doose- Asst. Camp Commandant
3. Omirigbe Angela- Registration Officer
4. Utoryila Ngudoon- Registration Officer
5. Kuhe Terhemen- Health Officer
6. Abah Anthony- Registration Officer
7. Torakaa Perpetual- Registration Officer.

The mobile registration teams comprise;

Kucha-Utebe Area;
1. Paul Ashaku
2. Mela Thomas
3. Judith Adagi

Agboughul Area;
1. Kpenkpen Jerome
2. Buhari Ahmed
3. Ogbu Emmanuel

Wadata Area;
1. Kumekor Iorwuese
2. Paul Abah
3. Inusa Mohammed.

Inaugurating the officials, SEMA boss, Ortese, charged them to discharge their duties without fear or favour to man, but with the fear of God, bearing it in mind that they are essentially on a humanitarian assignment to bring succour to those in distress.

Responding on behalf of the inaugurated officials, camp commandant, Iorhuna James, expressed the appreciation of the officials for the opportunity given them to serve at such a point of need, pledging that they will strive to do their utmost best, in his words, "for the good of humanity."
