Benue South Re-run: Igede Nation Seals Onjeh’s Victory In Unity Rally Ahead Of Polls


The entire people of the  Igede Nation have, in a unanimous decision  today, supported the Senatorial candidate of  the All Progressive Congress, APC  for the February senatorial re-run elections in a unity rally  at Oju LGA.



In a rare show of solidarity never before witnessed in the history of Benue State, the intimidating crowd spoke with one voice.

The event, according to Prof. Moses Ogbaji, a grass root mobilizer, said it is the tradition of  Igede people in showing their gratitude to God for a project they believe in, as Onjeh remains the best choice of the his people, also in celebrating Onjeh’s triumph at the Appeal Tribunal  to symbolize the oneness of the Igede people in both ideology and political resolve to continue to work together as brothers for the overall development of every segment of Benue South .

The event which had only registered voters of Oju and Obi local government areas was witnessed by Comrade Abba Yaro, State Chairman of the APC, the Zone C, Chairman, Alh. Mohammed Hassan , Onjeh’s campaign Organisation  led by Chief John Ochoga, Chairman Technical /Advisory council, the  Caretaker Chairmen of Obi and Oju LGAs.

The Senatorial aspirant while visiting the Ad’Oju HRH, Chief Augustine Egbere Ogbu and his council of Chiefs in his palace, was blessed and assured of the support of Igede people. The Ad’Oju HRH Augustine Ogbu declared that no one shall stop Onjeh as the entire Igede votes are for him.

On his part, the senatorial hopeful Comrade Daniel Onjeh told the Igede nation that President Buhari is not corrupt and shall not tolerate a corrupt Senator. He recounted how Mark used 16 good years of our mandate to enrich himself against the interest of our people.

He insisted that, “the liberation of the Idoma Igede Nation is paramount and must be achieved through a popular vote as shown in the commitment of the Igede people.”

Also speaking, Chief John Ochoga said “13th February 2016 shall mark the end of David Mark’s political journey as the people are practically tired of his face especially now that change has come to stay.”
