Desirous of a clean sweep of the fort-coming local government elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue South senatorial district have been charged to present credible individuals with the ability to deliver democratic dividends to the people as the party,"s candidates during the elections.

Speaking at a meeting of stakeholders of the party he called at his Otukpo residence to mark the Easter, Benue state Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu said the presentation of such credible candidates would ensure total victory for the party.

Engr. Abounu who used the Easter meeting to thank elders of the party for their continuous support to the party especially during the senatorial re,-run elections called on them to redouble their efforts to ensure that APC takes over the entire Benue South.

He called on members not to be dampened by the result announced by INEC, saying that that result would not stand as it has already been challenged by the party"s senatorial candidate, comrade Daniel Onjeh at the election tribunal.

Engr. Abounu disclosed that while the APC wanted to play by the rules and allow the people the freedom to elect their representative, the PDP chose to subvert the process and the expressed desire of people of the senatorial zone for a change.

He disclosed that in several places where elections did not hold for one reason or the other, results in favour of PDP were manufactured. He cited the example of Agatu and Apa local government areas where over 9000 of the 12,000 votes margin the PDP is said to have over the APC comes from.

He called for party unity as they approach the local government elections and assured members that government would continue to depend on them for their expertise in the service of the state.

Members that spoke, among them the National officer,Chief Nelson Alapa, Chief Agbo Ogah, Chief Baba Odangla, Elder Otse Onazi, Chief John Ochoga, Chief Sylvester Ameh, Chief John Enyi, Dr. pinot Ogbaji and the party zonal chairman, Comrade Mohammed Hassan all lauded the leadership of the deputy governor and pledged their unalloyed support to the party under his leadership and that of the state governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom.

They called for unity and assured that with renewed energy and commitment, the APC is going to sweep the polks in Benue South and the entire state.
