Monday Achor, a dreaded kidnapper arrested by police in Ugbokolo.

The police in Ugbokolo of Okpokwu council of Benue state has arrested a man named Monday Achor who also goes by different names ,alleged to be a kidnap kingpin that has been kidnapping people in the area for outrageous ransoms.

Mr Achor is strongly believed to be the mastermind of the spate of kidnappings in the area.He is a very dangerous kidnapper who led a kidnapping gang that attempted to kidnap a septuagenarian Mama Ogwa Odoh at her residence in Efoyo early this year. One of the kidnappers in the failed kidnap of mama Odoh was apprehended by the villagers and his other accomplices escaped after scaring the villagers with gun shots.

Mr Acho who hailed from Kogi state was arrested by the police in company of two ladies believed to be members of his gang at a very odd hour of the night in Ugbokolo after a tip off by vigilant residents of the area.Arms and mmunitions were allegedly recovered from him after a search on him by the police.A lawyer who attempted to bail him from the police station at Ugbokolo later declined based on the overwhelmingly evidence of his culpability in the kidnapping ring in the area and for fear of being charged for conspiracy by the police.

A source disclosed that Achor who is believed to by the brain behind the upsurge in kidnappings and other sundry crimes may have been arrested on the basis of the confession of some of his gang members who are undergoing trials and in detention.

The arrested kidnapped kingpin has been transferred to the Benue state police command Makuerdi for further investigations and interrogation.

Attempts to reach the PPRO for more details has not been successful,but the suspected kidnapper was actually arrested according to dependable sources in Ugbokolo.
This arrest is indeed a breakthrough for the police in the rising kidnapping and insecurity in Ugbokolo and environs .
