Gov. Ortom Grants Scholarship to Triplets Up to University Level

Two sets of triplets delivered by an indigent mother yesterday secured the Benue State government scholarship up to university level.

Governor Samuel Ortom announced the offer of lifeline to the six children, when their mother, Mrs. Kumawuese Azua Kwen, from Kwande local government area of the state, brought them to the Government House in Makurdi.

Mrs. Kwen earlier told the governor that her husband died when she was pregnant for the second set of triplets, adding that life has been difficult for her and her children and she had to appeal for assistance.

The governor who was moved by the woman’s plight declared that the State Government would henceforth be responsible for the training of the six children up to their university level.

He said the scholarship would  be formalized, so that the next government could continue with the sponsorship of the children.
