Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, seems to have thrown caution and decorum to the winds as he has ordered forceful entry into Atom Kpera Lodge which is the subject of ongoing court action between immediate past governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Torwua Suswam and the state government.

Suswam had bought the Logde which served as his Makurdi residence after his two term tenure as governor of the state, but the Ortom government had revoked the former governor's ownership of the property citing irregularities in its sale.

The former governor had then taken the matter to court where it is pending up to date, but in a shock move yesterday, officials of governmemt are said to have stormed the property located in the Lobi Quarters area of Makurdi armed with papers purporting the place to have been allocated as accommodation for the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs.

The officials are said to have broken down the doors to the building which has been under lock with the keys still in the possession of former governor Suswam and who's personal belongings are still in the building.

Work is said to be presently going on to convert the property to the designated office accommodation while the fate of the former governor's personal belongings left in the building is as yet unknown.

Efforts by lawyers to ex governor Suswam to get the attention and action of relevant security and judicial organs of governmemt on the matter are yet ongoing.

Meanwhile not a few persons have expressed shock and disgust at such action by Gov. Ortom against his predecessor which they say does not only belie undisguised ill-will, but also demeans the office of Governor of the state to unprecedented low levels.
