Worms Attack: Farmers Record Poor Maize Harvest in Benue

The Benue State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, James Anbua, yesterday confirmed poor maize harvest in all 23 local government areas of the state as a result of worm attacks (stembora).

Anbua also told journalists in Makurdi that the ravaging disease on maize caused by the army worm as referred to in the local parlance, had adversely affected production such that there would be shortage in the state this year.
