Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has urged abductors of the Controller News, Radio Benue Makurdi, Mrs.Yuadoo Tor-Agbidye to release her unconditionally.

Governor Ortom made the call today in Abuja while reacting to the kidnap shortly after he arrived from the United Kingdom with his wife, Dr. Eunice Ortom.

He described the incident as unfortunate and expressed sympathy with the Tor-Agbidye family on behalf of the government and people of the state.

He stressed the need for the people to volunteer information to relevant security agencies especially where they suspect criminal activities.

Governor Ortom said though he was not in the country, he was monitoring the situation and gave assurance that the joint efforts being made by the government, the police and other security operatives to free Mrs. Tor-Agbidye would soon yield success.

The Governor restated the commitment of his administration not to surrender Benue to hoodlums, emphasizing that the state is not home for armed robbers and kidnappers.

He added that the gains of the stick approach of the post-amnesty era will be sustained to guarantee the safety of lives and property in all parts of the state.
