AGATU QUESTIONABLE AND DANGEROUS AGREEMENTS WILL BE CHALLENGED IN COURT-Benue South Peace Network

By Sam Inalegwu Abah

A group "Benue South Peace Network" said it will challenge the Agatu questionable and dangerous agreement in court with the hope of declaring it null and void.

The Benue South Peace Network in a press conference held at Emmadarl Hotel Makurdi Friday 27th January 2017 said it will use all legal and constitutional means to annul the two peace accords signed between agents of the Benue state and Nassarawa Governments, Agatu sole Administrator, a chief and other persons placing Agatu, Idoma land, Benue south and entire Benue state under a heavier hammer from the well organized Terrorist network spearheaded by Fulani Herdsmen across Nigeria.

The group's press conference is sequel to the recent peace agreement signed by the Benue state government and his Nasarawa state counterpart, as well as stakeholders from Agatu land.

The said agreement is alleged to contain provisions inimical to the generality of Agatu and Idoma as a people, thereby generating widespread criticisms from concern individuals and groups condemning the action of those involved.

Recall that Agatu in Benue state have been involved in a protracted battle with Fulani Herdsmen, which led to wanton lost of lives and properties in the area.
