We Didn’t Buy Any Piece Of Land In Agatu – MACBAN

The Benue State coordinator of Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Garus Gololo, yesterday denied that Fulani herders purchased some parts of Agatu land for grazing.

Gololo said there was the need to correct the impression that herders in the state have paid money to acquire portions of land in Agatu against the backdrop of the just concluded peace brokered by governors of Benue and Nasarawa between Fulani and the Agatu people.

“It is not true that the Fulani herders paid any money to buy a piece of land from Agatu. I urge those politicians using the Agatu issue to fan the embers of crisis to desist,” he said.

He, however, added that the association would not hesitate to order for the arrest of any herder who flaunts the agreement entered by both parties in the interest of peaceful coexistence.

Also, the Minority Leader and Member representing Agatu Constiituecy in the Benue State House of Assembly, Alhaji Audu Sule, yesterday said that no part of Agatu land was ceded to Fulani herders for grazing.
