Faculty Of Social Sciences Building Collapse At Benue State University

A newly constructed Faculty of Social Sciences block, Benue State University, yesterday collapsed. Various items, including computers and other vital documents were destroyed as the building was reduced to rubble.

The real reason for the collapse of the building, which is one of the Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETfund) projects, could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, but many linked it to substandard work.

The university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tser Vanger, confirmed the incident. He said the building collapsed between 8.30a.m. and 9a.m. while people were preparing to go for the early morning church service.
